RIYADH: The Cabinet on Tuesday reiterated its condemnation of Israeli attacks in the region and affirmed ֱ’s full solidarity with Qatar, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Cabinet also expressed its full support for everything that protects the security of Qatar and preserves its sovereignty, SPA added.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman briefed the Cabinet on the results of his participation in the extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Qatar on Monday, which was called after Israel’s attack on Hamas political leaders in Doha last week.
Prince Mohammed praised the support shown by states participating in both summits for Qatar’s position on confronting the brutal aggression that occurred against its territory, and the complete rejection of violating the principles of international law and all international norms, SPA said.
The Cabinet welcomed the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the “New York Declaration” issued by the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which was co-chaired by ֱ and France.
The Cabinet said the fact that a resolution endorsing the declaration received 142 votes in favor represented an international will to move forward to a future of peace, in which the Palestinian people obtain their legitimate right to establish their independent state on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Cabinet also expressed its support for the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of ֱ, the UAE, Egypt, and the US regarding the restoration of peace and security in Sudan.It hoped that this would contribute to ending the humanitarian tragedy suffered by the Sudanese people, SPA said.
The Cabinet affirmed ֱ’s continued support for the efforts made by the Syrian Arab Republic to rebuild its economy. This includes the Kingdom’s recent grant of 1.6 million barrels of crude oil which aims to improve the living conditions of the Syrian people.
